As a nonprofit organization, our staff is lean. Resources are devoted to the programs and services we provide to victims, supporting friends and family, and the Mercer County community. Therefore, volunteers are a significant asset to the mission–help the hurting to heal and to work with all to end every form of domestic and sexual violence.

General Services
We offers a range of volunteer assignments to reflect the diverse needs of the agency and interest of volunteers. Examples of responsibilities include: conducting outreach activity; provide education sessions to community groups; participate and support special projects, fundraising events, and public affairs; Contribute specific skill or time to support the administrative needs of agency work,too!.
Direct Services
Provide direct services to victims of domestic or sexual violence. Court Navigator volunteer/Hotline volunteer/Emergency Housing advocate
Board Member, Advisory Board, or Committee Member
We need community leaders who will advocate for the needs of victims of domestic and sexual violence in Mercer County. The AWARE Board is a working board–leaders from across the county working to make our community a safer place for all.
Organization or Group Volunteer
Are you part of a social group or an organization who wants to volunteer their time? AWARE has numerous opportunities for groups looking to volunteer, such as Done in a Day projects, organizing donation drives or hosting a fundraising event.
Intern
AWARE, Inc offers creative, applied learning, internship opportunities for undergraduate students, graduate students and students studying in a variety of majors and disciplines. Internships are offered on a rolling basis throughout the year.
